What sets the price of a tree removal
When we look at a tree, these are the things that decide the work:
- What it could land on. A tree in the open can often come down in one piece; one over a house, fence or power line has to come down in sections, lowered with ropes.
- Size: the height and trunk diameter decide how much wood there is to cut and move.
- Access: whether equipment can reach the tree or everything goes through a side gate by hand.
- Condition: dead or decayed wood is unpredictable and changes how the tree can be taken down safely.
- Cleanup: whether the branches are chipped and the wood hauled away or left for you.
Pruning and hedges
Pruning depends on the size of the tree, how much needs to come out, and whether it can be done from the ground or needs climbing. A hedge depends on its length, its height, how overgrown it is and whether both sides can be reached. A hedge trimmed every year is lighter work than one left for several seasons. See tree pruning and hedge trimming.
Wood chips can work in your favour
Branches are chipped on site with our 10 to 20 inch chippers, and you can keep the mulch at no charge instead of having it hauled away. Our guide to using wood chips as mulch explains what to do with them.
Emergencies
Bisson Services offers 24-hour emergency service for dead, dying and dangerous trees. An emergency is priced on site on what it actually involves, since no two are alike. If a tree is already cracked, hanging or leaning onto something, call (613) 558-4806 now. Not sure how urgent it is? See is my tree dangerous?.
Getting a quick, accurate estimate
When you call or fill in the form, tell us what the job is, roughly how big the tree or hedge is, and what is near it. A couple of photos help. We then come out, look properly, and give you a free estimate for your actual job, in English or French.
