Tree removal, wood chipping, tree pruning and hedge trimming in Metcalfe. Metcalfe is in the City of Ottawa. Metcalfe is a rural village south-east of downtown Ottawa. Fully insured with $5 million in liability insurance, bilingual, with 24-hour emergency service and free on-site estimates.
Most of Metcalfe is in Ottawa's rural area. There, the City's Tree Protection By-law protects City-owned trees, such as those in the road allowance, but a private tree on your own land does not need a City permit to come down (source).
We still check the property line and any City trees nearby before a removal, and tell you on the free estimate visit.
The City of Ottawa's tree inventory lists 381 City-owned trees within 1.5 km of the centre of Metcalfe (source). The most common are white spruce, Scots pine and silver maple. 89 of them are already 30 cm or more across, and 22 are ash, the species emerald ash borer attacks.
